To Post or Reply
Click on the thread and then on the post that you want to respond to. When it's displayed, click on "Post Reply." To email a poster via Google, click on the poster's email address when the post is displayed. To start a new thread, click on "Post a new message to alt.support.thyroid" near the top right of the page. Registration is required to post.

For instructions on subscribing to newsgroups, look up "Newsgroups" under "Help" in an email reader program such as Outlook Express or Netscape, or a newsreader such as Free Agent.

To Post or Reply
To respond to a post, double-click on the post subject line, or single-click on it and then choose "Reply Group" (from the top of the screen or the choices that appear when you right-click). Note that "Reply" is the same as "Reply to Sender." To start a new thread (discussion) once you're at the newsgroup, click on "New Post," "Post Message," or something similar, depending on the program you're using.

To subscribe, type "usenet" (without the quotation marks) in the "Find" box and hit "Enter." Next, click on the "Expert Add" button. Then, type "alt.support.thyroid" (without the quotation marks) in the "Internet Name" text box, and click on the "Subscribe" button.
To go to the group after you've subscribed, type "usenet" in the "Find" box, click on the "Read my newsgroups" button, click on "alt.support.thyroid" in the "My newsgroups" list, and then click on the "List Unread" button.
To Post or Reply
To respond to a post, click on the "Reply" button. After typing your reply, click on "Reply Via Email," "Post to Newsgroup," or both. To start a new message, click on the box at the bottom of the current messages called "New Message."
Unix ASCII "Shell" Accounts (No Graphics)
To Reach Us
For the old-fashioned ascii (non-graphics) unix "shell" accounts, such as are still at many universities and often preferred by old "netters," access usenet/newsgroups by typing in a newsreader name at your prompt, such as "tin" (tin is a popular newsreader). Yank (y) all newsgroups, and search (/) on the group name OR keyword. You can subscribe (s) to the group so it's visible each time you go into usenet/newsgroups.
To Post or Reply
To respond publicly to a post, type "f" (followup). To email a poster privately, type "r" (reply). To post a new topic or thread, type "w," and you'll be prompted to specify a thread title. If tin doesn't work, consult tech support at your internet service provider.
